'Relax' wins Classic Song at the Q Awards
Tue 27 Oct, 2009
Frankie Goes To Hollywood were recognised for their achievements in music by a panel of industry experts last night, with thier cult single 'Relax' winning the Classic Song Awards at the Q Awards 2009.
The group are thrilled with the success, with lead singer Holly Johnson telling the BBC he was 'honoured' to be there and in typically mischievous style added "25 years ago I came here to the Grosvenor House Hotel to accept the BBC Radio listeners' award for Relax, even though they couldn't actually listen to the record." Because BBC Radio 1 banned the song when it first came out. Oh the irony.
